During January of 2009
I put a roll of canvas on
my studio wall, gessoed
it and started painting.
The next studio day I
rolled the previous
painted area out of sight
and gessoed the canvas
to the floor and painted
again. Day by day I
continued this visual
journal. I had returned
to the pure joy of
painting.
When I finished the first
one and unrolled and
measured it, I found it
was 23'3" long.
I now have nine of
these canvases and the
next one in progress.
